9th International Baku "Energy Ecology Economy" Congress

In a period of occurrence of ecological problems, a number of issues related to this matter were discussed at 9th International Baku "Energy Ecology Economy" Congress.

With organizational support of "Azersun Holding" Group of Companies, 9th International Baku "Energy Ecology Economy" Congress organized by International Academy of Eco-energetics was carried out in Culture Centre on 07.06.2007.

Congress took place on June 07-09. Professors and scientists from our Republic and a number of foreign countries were invited to the Congress. Main issues related to present period were discussed at the congress, i.e. congress participants discussed issues related to "Global warming, atmosphere pollution, ecological problems of Caspian sea, protection of earth and water resources, energy effectiveness, use of alternative energy sources, radiation problems, waste control, ecological problems of fuel and energy complex".

Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Huseyn Bagirov, President of International Eco-Energetics Academy Fagan Aliyev, along with holding management were participating at the event.

Representatives of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, State Land and Cartography Committee, Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, Baku State University and other government institutions, as well as representatives of foreign oil companies and scientists from Germany, Japan, Russia, Turkey, Iran, Libya and Oman were participating in the congress.

200 reports were submitted to the congress by scientists.

The intent of this event was to draw the attention of scientists and specialits of this field, state officials and private institutions, investors and society to the ecological problems of Azerbaijan and Caspian Region.

President of International Eco-Energetics Academy Fagan Aliyev stated the productivity of such events in a period when natural disasters take place in the world, and daily and industrial wastes cause significant problems.

Along with this, Fagan Aliyev stress the important role of works carried out in oil-gas production in Caspian basin and Absheron peninsula in general and conduction of gas lines in the economy the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Mr. Fagan stated that Global warming, thriftless use of energy sources and natural resources by people, continuous increase in energy necessity can cause a number of difficult problems.

Later the floor was given to Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Huseyn Bagirov. Minister stated that there was a future in currently ongoing processes in the country. He stated that several fields were developing in the country. Along with is, the minister noted the forward positive development in the economy of Azerbaijan, and stated that during difficult years the nation of Azerbaijan has been working with endurance and strong will for the future.

He noted positive economical development in the country as a result of the forward-looking policy of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. Along with this, issues related to economical problems are processed and works are carried out in this field. Huseyn Bagirov stated that country economy is currently developing with 40 percent tempo and stressed speedy advancement of non-oil sector development and its bright future.

Issues related to several problems causing disorder of world'secological systems and ecological stress, climate changes, reducing of harmfull gases vented into atmosphere and global warming were discussed at the international event.

Scientists invited from foreign countries gave a number of speeches at the opening of the event. They stressed the significant improtance and productivity of the congress.

After the opening, the congress continued with section meetings. Section meetings were carried out under six theme topics. Oil field development and technology, mathematics section, electrical engineering, biological differences of and ecological problems of Caspian sea, ecological issues in biology and medicine, radiation security of NANA technologies, water and land resources and land recultivation topics were discussed.

Congress was carried out for three days was finalized on June 9th.

International Eco-energetics academy is a scientific center famous for studying global energy and environemtnal problems, researching energy-saving technologies and protection of ecology. Eco-energetics academy is carrying out several important projects in Caspian region. Academy has directly participated and supported preparation of scientific researches in following fields: condition of Caspian Sea ecology, economical, social and juridical aspects of effect of existing oil and gas lines on flora and fauna of the region, and human health.
