COMPANY OVERVIEW
ASPU AGRO was established on July 31, 2007 upon the initiative by ASPU and put in commission on February 01, 2007. ASPU AGRO negotiates contract terms with the tenant farmers growing sugar beet and then transports the obtained sugar beet to ASPU.
The company started a discount based leasing system of growing sugar beet on the area of 1500 hectares. ASPU AGRO negotiates an agreement with agro-leasing companies on the matter of support in cultivating lands, planting, harvesting sugar beet as well as fertilizing, seed supply etc. The program runs in 8 regions and is supervised by 16 specialists who look after the implementation of the project in these areas.
The company has recently entered the agreement with Etalon Agro on planting 1680 hectares of land and the agreement has already set off in Barda where the cultivation works of 1200 hectares got under way. The other program specifically focuses on landowners growing sugar beet on their own holdings. They are expected to cultivate 711 hectares of land by the end of this year and have already succeeded in tending 486 hectares so far.
This program is specifically aimed at the farmers growing sugar beet on leasing terms. They are expected to cover nearly 400 hectares of land with sugar beet by the end of this year. So far they have completed the works on 220 hectares.
